Hamilton, Steve

The American crime-fiction writer Steve Hamilton was born in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in White Lake in the same state. In 1979, he started studying at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor gaining a B.A. in Computer Studies in 1983, but he also studied English, Astronomy and Linguistics. Immediately after graduation, he got a job at IBM in New York where he remained until 2014 when he became a full-time writer. At IBM he met Julia L. Antonietta, and they married in 1991. They now live with a son and a daughter in the little community of Cotterill in New York State.
