The Swedish author Ninni Schulman was born as Karin Jessica Christina Olofsdotter-Jansson at Rämmen in Värmland province, and she grew up in nearby Lesjöfors. She attended upper-secondary school at Spångbergagymnasiet in Filipstad until 1992. She then moved to Uppsala where she lived while attending the journalism programme at Bona Folkhögskola in Motala between 1993 and 1995. After a few years at the local newspaper Värmlands Folkblad, she moved to Stockholm in 1998 where she worked at Se & Hör 1998–99, Expressen 1999–2008 and Allt om Barn 2008–10. She is now a full-time author living in the Stockholm suburb of Bromma.
