Shepherd, Lynn

The British author, Lynn Shepherd, attracted a great deal of attention in literary circles with her crime novels that primarily were based upon classic novels from the 19th century. She is reticent about her private life and her background, but it is known that she studied Literature at Oxford University and started working with marketing and advertising for various firms in London. In 2000 she concentrated on freelance work while she also continued to study and gained a Ph.D in Literature in Oxford in 2003. She lives in Oxford now.
