Vachss, Andrew H.

Andrew Henry Vachss was an American author of crime fiction. He was born in Manhattan, New York, and grew up on Long Island. His mother read extensively to him as a child, and he started to collect books as a teenager. One of his eyes was damaged in a playground accident when he was seven years old, and although he was not blind in that eye, he wore an eye patch to exclude unsettling light flashes.
